What time is your alarm clock set for? Do you use the snooze button?
Monday thru Wednesday it's set for 6:45. The rest of the week its set for 10. This morning, I hit snooze for a whopping five minutes. And I might do the same thing in the next two days. But in truth, if my alarm goes off while I have no plans for the day (a 10 am day, in other words), I'll just shut my alarm off and go back to sleep. Unless I'm already awake.
What set you apart from the rest of the kids at school?
Submitted by jks.
At my fourth grade school, I was the class bully target. Before that, I had friends and gosh darnit people liked me. But I went to the new school where nobody knew me and then I made friends with THE NEW GIRL MEXICAN *gasp*. I had polls about who liked me (three people liked me, not including the girl I was in all this trouble for in the first place), public embarassment, and came home crying all the time.
I went to this school because of the smart kids program. Because of that, Mom wouldn't let me go back to my original school (even though we had moved and we now lived RIGHT BEHIND IT versus DOWN THE STREET FROM IT) and so my options were another new school or homeschooling. Homeschooling won, thank God.
I'd like to note that GATE (the smart kids program) was just a title. What I learned was no different, BUT I was allowed to take a painting class and a Mars study thing. The painting teacher was monotonous (though that class may have quite a bit to do with why I still do art; it was the first place in which I was exposed to and embraced to do computer art) and I remember nothing of the Mars program (except that we went to a science museum and got to go in a special space craft emulation room and display what we learned.)
As for what sets me apart now that I'm in college ... well, I'm seventeen entering my second year. I think that's pretty damn special. Then again, I met a girl who was eighteen in her like sixth or seventh semester in my acting class. The weird part is she was supposedly friends with The Boy's room mate back in middle school? Weirdness, lol.
It makes me wonder how many Aquanettas there are in the world. O_O; read more
